What materials are the tags and packaging made from?
All our engravable pet tags are made from a premium quality mirror polished stainless steel.
The split ring attachments are also stainless steel.
Any platings (for the coloured tags) are highly durable, water/weather resistant and hypoallergenic.
The tags are nickel-free, meaning that they are also fit for humans and can be worn as jewellery. Our packaging is card with a plastic securing sticker. We use recycled and recyclable packaging wherever possible.

How durable are the tags and the engraving?
Stainless steel is about as durable as you can get for an engraved pet tag.
The mirror polished surface may incur small surface scratches over time if the tag repeatedly comes into contact with another hard material, but because stainless steel is so hard it should never obscure the engraving or wear away the engraving.
The stainless steel tag's hardness ensures maximum scratch resistance during everyday use and the diamond tip of the engraving machine penetrates the surface of this material. Because the tag is made entirely of stainless steel, the engraving doesn't expose any weaker materials, more prone to rusting or tarnishing, beneath the surface.
But do please note that all materials, even high quality stainless steel, can suffer some surface tarnishing over time.
Regular cleaning with a soft cloth and avoiding harsh chemicals, can minimise tarnishing and maintain the material's appearance for a longer period.
